The Power Rangers are back and they are ready to morph into action!
With an army of mighty aliens unleashed on earth, a brand-new team of rangers whose powers come from dinosaurs unite to save humankind. The group of dynamic warriors in the new Nickelodeon series Power Rangers Dino Fury features the Red (Russell Curry), Pink (Hunter Deno), Blue (Kai Moya), Green (Tessa Rao), and Black (Chance Perez).
The colorful group of five was originally introduced to the United States in 1993 with the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers television show. Shortly thereafter, the Rangers became a pop-culture phenomenon and iconic figures in society. Throughout the years, people of all ages have watched their favorite superheroes tackle new adventures in 28 different television seasons and witnessed their fictional idols make their way to the big screen in 1995, 1997, and 2017.
The mega-successful franchise is welcoming a new generation of Rangers to flex their ninja-like skills in the action-packed production, Power Rangers Dino Fury. “For nearly 30 years, Power Rangers has brought humorous action-adventure entertainment to the screen, with positive messages and real-life lessons that parents value, like diversity, inclusion, self-discipline, and teamwork,” says Executive Producer Simon Bennett in a statement. “Throughout the years, the brand has consistently delivered exciting news iterations while instilling these same core values, and it’s been an honor getting the opportunity to continue the legacy with ‘Power Rangers Dino Fury.’”
With that being said, the driving force behind the Pink Power Ranger, Hunter Deno, opened up to Celeb Secrets about her experience on the show, the auditioning process, and what we should expect from the suspenseful season.
“In the first episode, my character ‘Amelia’ and Kai’s character ‘Ollie’ randomly meet in this forest and they are kind of going for the same thing and one thing leads to another, and we pop up in this base…which Is later our Ranger base. Then, all of a sudden a Red Ranger comes out and he finally dimorphs into his “human form,” which is actually an alien. So, we kind of follow his story on where he comes from and we try to find his answers,” says Deno in an exclusive Celeb Secrets interview. “Ultimately, we’re just trying to fight some monsters and keep the world safe.”
While fighting evil villains and imagination-defying monsters, Deno warns CS to watch out for the Pink Ranger because her personality might surprise us. “She’s tougher than she looks,” shares Deno. “She knows how and when to take charge, she is a tough cookie, but you will never guess it because she is the sweetest, most optimistic, positive person.”
The franchise is known for emphasizing the meaning of “friendship” in each episode, leaving the characters to create a real-life bond on and off the screen. Therefore, the cast and crew became family while filming overseas in New Zealand. In fact, Deno expressed that during her days off, she wishes she could be on set hanging out with her co-stars. “When we have days off, I actually get a little sad and I wish there were reasons for us to go in and just hang around set. But, I’m a travel bug and I love seeing new places and New Zealand is just an incredible place,” she adds. “So, over our Christmas hiatus, we weren’t able to go home due to COVID-19 and they shortened our period of time. But, we took an 11 day trip to the South Island and we went to five or six different cities. I think the breathtaking scenery is by far my favorite.”
